Where to stay near Pitlochry
Pitlochry is a Victorian holiday town on the River Tummel, with a high street of independent shops and restaurants, the Pitlochry Festival Theatre and a dam with a fish ladder. Most visitors stay in hotels or guest houses, and the self-catering stock is smaller. The stays on this page are the ones with a hot tub: lodges and a house in Pitlochry itself, others at Killiecrankie, and cottages and lodges at Bridge of Cally and along the road towards Glenshee.
In the town or out of it?
Choose a stay in Pitlochry if you want to walk to the shops, the theatre and a restaurant for dinner. Choose one at Killiecrankie, a short drive north, if you want the gorge, the walks and a quieter evening. Bridge of Cally and Blacklunans put you towards Blairgowrie and Glenshee, which suits anyone who wants hills and a long walk without much traffic.
What to do
The Pass of Killiecrankie is a wooded gorge with a visitor centre run by the National Trust for Scotland, and it is the site of a battle in 1689. Queen’s View over Loch Tummel is one of the best-known viewpoints in Perthshire. The Edradour distillery is just outside town and is often described as one of Scotland’s smallest. In the evening, you come back to your own hot tub, which is rather better than a hotel bar.
Wood-fired, private or shared
Two of the Pitlochry stays have a wood-fired tub, which suits cold Highland evenings if you don’t mind lighting a fire; our wood-fired hot tub cottages page explains what to expect. Others have a private tub. The cards show which. For a wider choice, browse all Perthshire hot tub lodges, or if you would rather be near the city see stays near Dundee.
Booking
Pitlochry is busy in summer, during the autumn colour and at Christmas and New Year, so book those weeks well ahead. Press Check Prices & Availability on any stay to see the owner’s calendar and the total for your dates.
