Heilan Roo, Killiecrankie

A perfect backdrop to a wonderful week. Heilan Roo was just as we hoped really well designed and appointed and very comfortable. The owners have gone to great lengths to make a unique and special forest hideaway. We would highly recommend a stay here.

What a fabulous property. It was stunning lots of little treats left for us. Beautiful location l. Could not believe the six red squirrels in the garden who would play and have fun. Hot tub great. Owners really helpful. Had the best time.

Fantastic house, accurate to the description provided. The garden is fabulous for nature, we had a variety of visitors including red squirrels, birds, pheasants and partridge. The kitchen is modern with a multitude of utensils, no need to take anything. The beds are lovely and comfortable. The only suggestion we do have is to consider updating the main sofa as its not quite the best designcomfort for older visitors minor point. The owners are friendly and kept us up to date with a wifi issue we had during our stay, this was not unique to the house but a 24 hr outage across Perth. Its obvious that much love and care has been given to the property, the design and organisation for guests. Thank you, we hope to visit again.

This house is even more stunning than the photos suggest and they are excellent. The care and detail that has gone in to this is phenomenal. So many personal touches and every single element was taken care of. The quality throughout was 5 Star and all communication gave a lovely welcoming and individual experience. I will be recommending this to everyone I know looking for a place to escape as this ticks every single box.

Lovely holiday full of comfort and warmth even in February. Every facility provided for with considerable thought. Games table was a useful addition even for grown up boys.

Heilan Roo is absolutely beautiful and ultra comfortable, its even better in reality than it looks in the photos. A fully equipped home with everything you will need. Everything is top quality and high tech a little too high tech for me as a senior?

I recently stayed at Heilan Roo with a group of friends, and it was simply the perfect base for our Highland adventures. From the moment we arrived, it was clear we were in for something special. The welcome biscuit selection was a delightful touch, and set the tone for the attention to detail that runs throughout the property. Everything about Heilan Roo exudes luxury. The beds are exceptionally comfortable some of the best weve slept in!, and the showers are brilliantly powerfulideal for washing away the days exertions. After long days out exploring the local area, there was nothing better than soaking in the woodburning hot tub, surrounded by the gorgeous scenery near Pitlochry. The sense of peace and tranquillity you get from those views is second to none. Beyond the stunning interior, Heilan Roos setting is spectacular. It truly felt like a private Highland hideaway, yet it was still close enough to local amenities and outdoor pursuits that made our trip so fun. From hiking and scenic drives to cosy pubs, we never ran out of things to do, and we always looked forward to returning home to our comfortable retreat in the evening. If youre looking for a luxurious, relaxing getaway that still offers plenty of adventure on the doorstep, I cant recommend Heilan Roo highly enough. Its a gem of a place, and I cant wait to return!

Just one word 'wow'! ! What a beautiful, clean full of luxury place to stay. The owners were so helpful and the welcome pack was the best I have ever received. I would highly recommend Heilan Roo, this is most definitely the best place I have ever stayed in, in over 20 years of holidaying in Scotland. We cannot wait to return!

A fabulous house and very well equipped. A lovely welcome pack was left for us. We were so comfortable and the grounds are beautiful. The hot tub was enjoyed despite the very cold weather!

Hielan Roo Has the Wow factor. The cottage is beautifully designed and has floor to ceiling bi fold doors to the front and rear. The setting is wonderful within your own forest with a small stream to the side and small waterfalls in the garden at the rear. There is a bbq, hot tub and seating areas at the rear set in a lovely garden lit up at night. The hosts were lovely and left lots of goodies for your holiday. This is certainly a lovely holiday destination. Elaine and Roo must be very proud of what they have achieved. We thoroughly recommend Hielan Roo to those looking for a special retreat. Heilan Roo is truly a sanctuary with outstanding hosts. Our group was two couples and the layout was perfect. We absolutely loved the foldaway walls for true indoor outdoor living. Our group was able to see so many different birds and types of animals. The property has amazing views of Ben Vrackie and the trails are practically in the backyard. Soldiers Leap is also right across the street. We truly relaxed and loved our stay. Book this property. You will be so glad you did.

Heilan Roo is a stunning holiday let. The rooms were all spacious, comfortable and provide a relaxing atmosphere from the moment you arrive. The garden area is superb with the waterfall features, the hot tub and BBQ and seating areas. Plenty of wildlife visiting the garden with greater spotted woodpeckers, red squirrels, pheasants, nuthatch and many of the more common garden birds during our week. Lovely walks round about with easy access to Ben Vrackie and down River Garry to Pitlochry. Thank you Elaine & Roo for making this accommodation available for holiday lets and for the welcome hamper. Had a fabulous week and totally recommend this to others looking for a holiday let in the area.

If you are lucky enough to stay at this beautiful property then you won't regret it. It is absolutely stunning and very well designed, it has everything you would loveneedwish for in a holiday home. The view is breathtaking both inside and out, I could easily have stayed another week in this lavish house. I am already looking at dates for next year.

We recently had the absolute pleasure of staying at Heilan Roo in Killiecrankie, and it was nothing short of paradise! Nestled in its own secret forest, this modern contemporary home offers a serene escape that feels like a hidden gem.

Helian Roo lived up to all expectations for our weeks stay. This is a well thought out forest home with all the amenities ranging from a fully stocked kitchen utensils to supplies to get the wood burning hot tub up and running. The hosts were helpful and charming, willing to help where required but to be honest the home just worked itself! The hamper was a lovely touch as was the Birthday ballons and card for two of our party who celebrated another year in comfort with a peaceful relaxing view. Getting to the property was easy and very close to Blair Atholl for the local store or Pitlochry for souvenir hunting. This property is a real gem, if looking to book, do not hesitate. Heilan Roo is a fantastic house that has been beautifully designed by its owners and provides a convenient location for many of the local Perthshire attractions. The quality of the furniture and furnishings and overall attention to detail was clear throughout the property and the landscaped garden was a wonderful haven to relax in. Elaine, the owner, provided a great deal of helpful information and went above and beyond to ensure that we had a wonderful stay. She also provided an extremely generous welcome pack. A definite 5 star property.

Heilan Roo was everything we could have hoped for and more. Elaine had left us the most wonderful hamper, and had even gone the extra mile, by decorating the table with a Happy 21st birthday balloon for my daughter whose birthday we were celebrating. She was even so kind as to leave a gift and card for her, which was a lovely added touch. Heilan Roo definitely delivers on luxury, and we were fortunate enough to have fabulous weather over our weekend stay, which allowed us to use the beautiful outdoor space, which has been respectfully landscaped to allow you to be totally absorbed into the natural surroundings, allowing us to totally relax. We organised a private chef and a beautician during our stay, and again, the property lends itself well for both experiences. The kitchen is particularly well equipped. I would highly recommend Heilan Roo to anyone looking for a luxurious break, and we will definitely return.

Totally loved the house and location . Beautiful Garden with amazing hot tub bbq etc . The kitchen had everything you need for self catering and the welcome pack was a pleasant surprise. Could not fault anything about the decor . Lovely comfortable beds and plenty of towels and robes . 5 stars all round

This is a beautiful house in a wonderful location. We loved it!

Let me start by saying what an amazing place Heilan Roo is. When you first arrive, the property looks as amazing as the pictures portray, especially if you arrive at dusk as we did. The house is very spacious and has two adjoining open plan living spaces. One we used during the day with a large leather corner sofa overlooking the front of the property and the other an entertainment area sharing its space with the kitchen and dining table. All the rooms are furnished to a high standard with quality furniture, paintings and hand made decorations in each room. The kitchen is well stocked and has everything you could ever need. Nothing is missing and you wont need to bring anything with you. The gravelled garden was beautiful with its waterfalls that lit up on an evening and made for a fantastic place to relax in the log fired hot tub at the end of the day. We didnt use them, but there was also a BBQ and fire pit which would make for a great place to spend your time in the summer evenings Im sure. Elaine had put together a welcome basket with a number of goodies to welcome us. Both before and during our stay she was very attentive, offering tips on the hot tub, EV charging and places to eat and visit during our stay. Pitlochry itself has plenty of places to eat and visit and we followed some of Elaines recommendations by eating at McKays and The Old Mill. We also visited the Dam and Salmon Ladder which were free to access. A short walk from the house is the Killiecrankie Visitor Centre and Jacobite Cafe where you can grab a cake and coffee before walking the River Garry all the way to Pitlochry andor visit the Soldiers Leap. Heilan Roo is a stunning property and located in a fantastic location. You really couldnt find anywhere better to stay and we couldnt believe our luck in being able to book it. We will definitely look forward to coming back again in the near future.

We stayed at Heilan Roo for the first time last week and can honestly say we will definitely be staying here again! This place has everything you need and more. The owners were extremely kind and even left a little welcome gift on arrival. The house is absolutely spotless and has a large living space with plenty of room to relax. It is located in a very relaxing area with the sound of waterfalls to make you feel completely switched off from the world.
