Dog friendly cottages in Angus with a hot tub
Most dog friendly cottage lists stop at “pets welcome”. That is not much help when you have two spaniels, or when you want a hot tub as well. Every stay here accepts dogs and has a tub, and the card tells you how many dogs are allowed according to the owner’s listing. Some take one, some two, and a few take up to four. Where a charge applies, the holiday company’s booking page shows it before you pay.
Where the dog walks are
The Angus coast is the obvious choice for a dog. Montrose has a long, open beach, Carnoustie has a wide stretch of sand beside the links and the cliff path near Arbroath gives you a proper clifftop walk. Our stays at Inverkeilor and Carmyllie are a short drive from the coast and carry a beach tag on the card where the feed says there is a beach close by.
Inland, the glens give you hill walking from the car park, and the Perthshire stays around Pitlochry, Blacklunans and Bridge of Cally have woods and riverside paths. Keep dogs on a lead near sheep and ground-nesting birds in spring and early summer; the farmland around many of these stays has livestock in the fields.
Check the dog rules before you book
The number of dogs allowed is read from each owner’s listing and shown on the card. A few details are worth confirming on the booking page: whether dogs are allowed upstairs and on the furniture, whether the garden is fenced, and whether there is a fee per dog or per stay. We do not guess at any of these.
Some stays on the site do not allow dogs, and they are left off this page. If you are looking at the full list instead, the Dogs welcome box in the filters does the same job.
Hot tub and dogs: a few sensible rules
Most owners ask guests to keep dogs out of the tub and to dry wet dogs before they come indoors. A wood-fired tub also has a stove beside it, so it is worth keeping a lead handy at that end of the garden. If you want a woodburner indoors for the evening, use the Woodburner filter beside the cards.
Pick by area
For beaches, try Montrose or Arbroath. For hills and the glens, see hot tub cottages near the Angus glens. For the larger houses that sleep eight or more with a dog or two, start with Perthshire hot tub lodges.
Questions guests ask
How do I know how many dogs are allowed?
The card shows the number from the owner’s listing. If it says two, that is the maximum for that stay. Check the booking page for any charge before you pay.
Are dogs allowed in the hot tub?
Owners generally ask that they are not. Keep dogs out of the tub and dry them off before they come indoors.
Where is best for a beach with a dog?
The coast stays near Montrose, Carnoustie, Arbroath and Inverkeilor are the closest to a beach. Look for the beach tag on the card.
Do all the stays on this page have a hot tub?
Yes. Every stay on this site has a hot tub on the property, and the card says whether it is private, wood-fired or shared.
