Drummygar Mains Reviews

We as a group of 10 adults had a great time at the property the house was beautiful and grounds were perfect. The hot tub was a perfect addition to the property as it used up some of our time even when the weather wasn't good. The house has everything you need but transport is needed as it is a distance away from everything. I would definitely use again.
This is the most picturesque location and inside the house is amazing. Very high standard of fixtures and fittings. Sofas and beds were lovely and comfortable. Kitchen has everything you may possibly need. Location is good. Not to far away from towns to stock up on groceries or ho for a day out. We were staying for a special birthday. 5 ladies of a certain age. If I could suggest anything to the owners it would be to put a shelter or a windbreak of some description round the hot tub. We did use it and it was amazing but the wind was freezing coming round from the gable side of the house. One of our ladies struggled with the steep stairs to go for a shower. If only there was a downstairs one. We now know at least she isn't great with stairs! Blackout curtains in the bedrooms might be a shout too. The views though, oh those views. Amazing. Horses everywhere, deer, a hare and a pussy cat. Between the heat from the Aga inside, the heat from the hot tub outside and the views. . You won't want to leave the premises!
Great location. Very clean and spacious. Beautiful gardens an ideal choice for a quiet break. John we will be back!
We had a great time at Drummygar Mains. The house was spotless and the pictures dont do the setting justice its even better in real life. Clydesdale horses in the field outside the house were stunning. The host,John, was brilliant and couldnt do enough to help us. Apparently we were the first group of golfers that had stayed which is crazy as its so well placed for all the great courses in Angus Carnoustie only 6 miles away We will definitely be looking to return. Thanks for everything. Allan
Perfect stay for our family gathering over new year. House was ideal for the size of our family and gave us plenty of space to relax and spend time together. John was a great host and welcomed us on arrival. My only issue was with Sykes Cottages company themselves as prior to arrival they were incredibly rude to me on the phone and almost forced me to cancel this booking in advance due to their own pricing errors which they tried to force back onto us. Working in the tourismcommunications sector myself, I would be very hesitant to recommend Sykes to others given my own recent experience now. Thankfully they resolved this eventually but it did give me a bit of anxiety about the whole holiday before we got there. However, I would recommend Drummygar Mains as an excellent place to stay 100 ideal for a family holiday.

We had the pleasure of staying in Drummygar for three nights from Thursday to Sunday accommodating ten adults. The location is perfectly secluded giving us privacy in our own space with wonderful views across the farmland to the sea on clear days. The property was immaculate throughout and had everything in situ for our weekend away. The Aga kept the property warm on the typical Scottish autumnal evenings and the hot tub capped off the busy days out and about. All the bedrooms were spacious and comfortable provided each couple with suitable private space to relax. We explored the local area on foot with the local farm shop and cafe providing a good stopping point. We travelled to Arbroath via the local bus service approx 3040 minutes on bus which was only a short walk from the property. A taxi return is also not overly expensive. We would highly recommend Drummygar Mains for any family friends get together.
We had a lovely stay this October for a family birthday get away. The house is perfect for that kind of event. We were a party of 8 with a baby. Very spacious and clean with comfy beds and extremely well equipped for all needs. The house is lovely and warm with great, uninterrupted, views onto the water in the distance. Hot top is clean and great for 4 at a time.
